Daveed's Opera NEO Benefit Recital

Michal Schmidt

Join Daveed and pianist Michal Schmidt for an afternoon vocal recital to help him raise money to attend Opera NEO this summer.

The program will be Deux Melodies Hebraïques by Ravel, 6 Songs from a Shropshire Lad by George Butterworth, L'horizon Chimerique by Fauré and Dichterliebe by Schumann

Rebecca Ergas has graciously let us use her house for the recital. The address is 346 Wyldhaven Rd. Bryn Mawr PA 19010 and will be held on on Sunday July 12th at 2:00 PM.

OperaNEO is an intensive four-week opera festival and training program held in San Diego, California. While at Opera NEO Daveed will have the opportunity to sing the role of Vogelsang in Mozart’s the Impresario, cover the role of Remendado in Bizet’s Carmen and participate in the annual aria marathon and cabaret night. In addition to these wonderful performance opportunities, Daveed will also continue his studies with voice teacher Braeden Harris, who was instrumental in Daveed’s recent transition into Tenor repertoire.

Although Opera NEO provides professional standard performances it is first and foremost a training program and therefore has expenses associated with it.  There is no fixed admission fee for the performance but there is a suggested minimum donation of $50 per group. However, donations of any quantity will be accepted and much appreciated. Those who are unable to attend the recital but donate $25-$50 will receive a recording of Dichterliebe and those who donate $50 or more will receive a recording of the entire recital.
