Tanglewood 2016

Daveed is thrilled to announce that he has been named a Tanglewood Vocal Arts Fellow for the 2016 season! The Tanglewood Music Center Fellowship Program is the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s summer academy for advanced musical study. The TMC offers an intensive schedule of study and performance for emerging professional musicians. Directed by world-renowned soprano Dawn Upshaw, the Vocal Arts program will provide Daveed the opportunity to work hands on with such artists as Mezzo-soprano Stephanie Blythe, Soprano Lucy Shelton, Baritone Sanford Sylvan and vocal coach Alan Smith amongst many others. Some of the projects Daveed will have the opportunity to work on will be a production of Kurt Weils’ Seven Deadly Sins directed by Mark Morris, a concert of American popular music led by Stephanie Blythe and a complete performance of the Italianisches Liederbuch by Hugo Wolf.

All performances will take place on Tanglewood’s 526-acre campus in the scenic Berkshires of western Massachusetts located in the village of Lenox; a three-hour drive from New York City and a two-hour drive from Boston.

Stay tuned for a complete list of repertoire and projects that Daveed will participate in during the 2016 TMC season.
